About this blog

This blog is a compilation of news and analysis about the current global biodiversity crisis, and of various responses to the crisis.  Although a potentially gloomy project, it seems to me more empowering to try and understand the complexities of the problem than to ignore it.

The blog is a personal project aiming to explore the tensions in our relationships with the rest of the biosphere, to start to imagine what living in the Eremozoic world might be like, and to examine critically various approaches to tackle this crisis.  The blog will also celebrate the mind-boggling diversity of life with which we share the planet, and reflect on those likely to fall by the wayside in the march to the Eremozoic. The knowledge of what stands to be lost may feed the desire to fight for it.

“The world is big and I want to have a good look at it before it gets dark.”   John Muir
